- Ms. Haney received her M.A. in musicology from the University of Michigan in 2007. Her studies focused on ethnomusicology and the music of Japan, with particular emphasis on gagaku and hybrid music. She began teaching English in Japan in 2007 after receiving her TEFL certification from Bridge Linguatec. Before coming to NUCB, she spent three years teaching English and music at private high schools in Tokyo and Nagoya.
